The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2011-2012
Now in their second year, the Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings lists the world’s best colleges and university based on reputation. The top 25 list is dominated by USA and UK based universities (THE, 2012):
Measuring the performance of world economies
The Economist analyzed in a recent article which economies have fared best and worst during the global financial crisis. The article highlights that the real GDP is no longer the best measure for comparing output, because of demographic changes. Canada, like the United States, has a fast-growing population, whereas the number of Germans and Japanese has started to shrink (The Economist, 2011). The Economist considers the Real GDP per head to be a better measure in order to offer an accurate comparison among worldwide economies’ performance.
On measuring the performance of the Marketing department
A performance report becomes functional by using KPIs that illustrate the business context and by which action can be identified or labeled worth trying.
When choosing a KPI it should fulfill one of the following categories (Shevlin, 2007):

Good news for IT industry budgets and spending are increasing this year. According to Wedbush’s survey of 100 IT project managers some of their conclusions are:
- 77 percent of respondents expected IT budgets to rise 8 percent in 2011.
- 59 percent of respondents said they would purchase tablets in the next year, but only 29 percent of those surveyed thought they would replace notebooks. PC demand appears to be solid in business technology.
